Why people make the change
Stepping over a tall tub wall gets harder every year. A tub-to-shower conversion swaps the tub for a low-step walk-in shower, so you walk in instead of climbing in. A good one still looks like a nice, modern bathroom, not a hospital room.
The steps, in order
- Request a visit. Fill out the short form, or call or text. Chris reaches out to set a time.
- Chris comes to your home. He measures the bathroom and listens to what you need. Ask as many questions as you like.
- Your quote. Dawson sends your exact price. You can take as long as you need. Tub-to-shower conversions are priced like any walk-in shower, from $9,600.
- We order everything. Walls, base and fixtures are ordered before install day, so the work moves along once we arrive.
- Install day. Derek and Randy go over the job, put down drop cloths, locate the main water shut-off, remove the old tub and haul the debris to our trailer. They run the new plumbing, make needed repairs, and leak test before the pan goes in and before the walls go up.
- Finish and walk-through. Wall panels, accessories (niches, grab bars, a seat and the door), caulk and clean-up. Then we run the shower with you and confirm there are no leaks.
How long does it take?
Installs typically take about two days. Day one is demo, new plumbing, a plumbing test, the shower pan and backer board. Day two is wall panels, accessories, caulk and clean-up. See the full install day page for the details.
You can typically shower about 24 hours after we finish.

What it costs
